Introduction

Welcome to my blog!

Hello, I am honored you decided this was the blog you decided to click on to read. I started this website for a school project and plan to use it afterwards to show off my skills as a designer. If you wish to follow along with me on this adventure, you will watch my skills progress and then you can say you knew me before I became famous. My purpose for this website is to learn and adapt new skills to become a better designer. I have had no previous experience in web design, so this is something I have stepped outside of my comfort zone for. All of this to say thank you for showing interest in my interests.

Some Insight on me

My family and I have moved a few times throughout my life. I was born in Pueblo, Colorado, then we moved twice to Ohio where my two brothers were born. Now, we live in North Carolina, and it has been my favorite place to live. We have lived there since I started the fifth grade. Looking back, I can see how much I have changed since living there, but there are some aspects of myself that remain constant. For example, I have always been an introvert, but I have progressively become less shy in social settings where I do not know anyone. This is due factors such as the nurturing friendship I have made with my best friend since middle school, growing up, and desiring to be perceived as someone who can carry on a conversation. I am still introverted because I feel recharged when I get to be by myself for a bit, but I can also feel recharged being around people that I love. I love my family and friends deeply, and I express it outwardly through actions. My favorite way to show people I care, is by creating things for people. From cooking, painting, photography, and design, I love to create art for people.

My Love of Art

Most kids enjoy coloring, but as a child, I took it as far as creating “stories” that consisted of folded up pieces of paper, stick figure characters, and misspelled words. I always enjoyed creating my own characters and designing their outfits and creating their personalities. I would even bring this creative art into play. I loved photographing things when I was younger. Recently, on my dad’s computer, we discovered one of my “photoshoots” of my barbie dolls. I had fun pretending they were people I could pose for my kiddie camera, and taking pictures of them at different poses. I was a creative kid who thoroughly enjoyed visual expression.

However, when I went to the school I attended from middle school to my junior year of high school, my creativity dwindled. The school was a small private school with a small amount of students and money. They did not have anywhere you could learn art or channel it, so my interest in it decreased. It was not until I attended a new school for my senior year of high school that my passion for art was encouraged. I got to take an art class for the first time since elementary school, and I discovered that I enjoy painting. I also got the privilege of taking a digital photography class where we learned the basics of photography, and how to operate a DSRL camera. I was so invested in learning photography that my parents got me my own DSLR camera for Christmas that year. From these privileges, my passion for art had sparked once again

Now You Know...

Now that you know a little more about who I am, I hope that my art will resonate with you more.  My goal is to be seen as a capable and competent artist who is ever growing and learning. I want to reflect on the beauty of the world around us and be an encouragement to others through my work.
