Pattern Collection
One of my Illustrator projects involved learning how to create patterns. I learned types of patterns and design to complete three patterns for a pattern collection. A Hero pattern is the base pattern with the most complicated details of the pattern. It can stand alone if it is complex enough. Secondary patterns include similar elements of the Hero pattern but are not as detailed. Tertiary or blender patterns are the simplest form of these patterns. They take a simpler design element from the two former patterns to highlight the former. Blender patterns are typically used for backgrounds of designs. I based my pattern collection on fairy tales. I was inspired by Snow White, the Princess and the Frog, the Little Mermaid, Rapunzel, and Beauty and the Beast.
